Following a period touring Europe with a theatre company, Tim settled in the region to become education officer with a regional arts organisation in the late 80s before joining South Cambridgeshire District Council as Arts Development Officer. Tim then moved to Essex County Council into a more corporate role as Head of Cultural Services.
Tim’s first encounter with GO East was in 1999 as the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) lead setting up a new NDPB, the Regional Cultural Consortium and developing the region’s first Cultural Strategy. Tim later moved to a central Whitehall role as Head of Delivery at the DCMS where he managed the department’s Public Sector Agreements and had a central role in managing the 2006 spending round and the department’s response to the Efficiency Review.
Moving back to the region to be a little closer to the chalk face in 2004, Tim is now Deputy Regional Director for Development and Infrastructure at GO East supporting delivery of the Sustainable Communities agenda through housing, transport and planning functions.
