They are also attending two Meet the Experts Sessions. Last week Trisha Lee one of only 30 Social Enterprise Ambassadors spoke about the creation of her company Make Believe Arts. She was followed by Kenrick Sandy who is the Artistic Director of Boy Blue Entertainment , now a company in residence at the Barbican PIED PIPER. Both highlighted how they have grown their organisations from a small idea backed up by a lot of passion and commitment. They were both deeply impressed by the young people they met from Thurrock. This week the experts are West End Theatre producer, Andrew Fishwick and our own Charlie Blue from Throwdown UK.

Added to this is the fact that Thurrock Council are very keen to talk about Year Two of ‘it’s our theatre: Thurrock’ which will establish the Events Team as a new Social Enterprise.

My reflection is that it would take someone with insight and vision from one of the major regional development agencies to take ‘it’s our theatre’ and create an opportunity for every young person in the East to become part of it.
