The Mercury Theatre's Gift

Throughout May the Mercury has been hosting a series of weekend events…events? I’m not sure? I’m not sure if they are events? Or workshops? Or even ‘happenings’?

I hope they’re not ‘happenings’; that conjures up all sorts of nasty images, most of them involving a naked hippy leaping around in front of a big fire. Never a good idea. I’m pretty sure they’re not ‘happenings’? Okay, so everyone eats together…shares personal stories…there can be tears…everyone laughs a lot and creates ‘work’ of some kind but…come to think of it we do make fire sculptures and one of the guys who does the cooking is called Mick the Hippie…
