TPO some of you may know this fantastic Italian company, produced here in the UK by Crying Out Loud. This May we are inviting practitioners and programmers from around the region to come and see TPO’s latest show for children, Butterflies.

It’s a magical mix of dance, digital animation and motion capture telling the story of the life of the butterfly. It has all the ingredients of the perfect show for children and their families. It’s ambitious, it's world class and it's fascinating to all ages from 4 to 40. The children can interact with the technology as well as with the performers.

Created for those of 4 and up, the Children’s Cheering Carpet is a touch sensitive carpet that triggers images and sound, creating a virtual landscape for performers and the audience. Motion capture sensors enable images to be triggered by breath and light, creating images on the white carpet and two large wings.

TPO have previously toured the UK and Ireland with their Garden Trilogy; curated by THEATRE IS…the University of Hertfordshire has programmed the show alongside a workshop for their film and animation students.
