In investing in the project the Arts Council also ensured that Cirque Bijou and THEATRE IS…were able to engage brilliant practitioners like the writer Anna Reynolds, the choreographer Helen Parlor and the sound and music artist Simon McCorry to spend the time necessary to develop ‘excellent’ art. It is only by working with the best that high quality work for young audiences can be produced.

By spending the time and investing the money Tightrope is assured an exciting future. We're now exploring sites in Bristol and the east of England to mount the production in 2011 in partnership with the Port of Tilbury, Unicorn Theatre and York Theatre Royal. At the heart of this will be the engagement of young people and their families in their communities. By placing the culture of those communities at the heart of the piece we know that Tightrope will not only be exciting and challenging but also immensely important to the lives of the young people it touches.
