THEATRE IN EUROPE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

NIE are based in the East of England and Oslo. The Company creates work not for young people, but work which appeals to young people. I think that’s how it should be. As a ‘collective’ of practitioners it is truly international, artists from both the east and west of Europe, mostly from a non English speaking background. NIE invited practitioners from Europe to not only talk about theatre for young audiences but also about ways of collaborating. The experience was an education.

I learnt that practitioners in Europe have a generous attitude to working collaboratively. An example of this is the Danish companies, Teatre Fairplay and Odsherred Teatre collaborating on a new production of ‘Hard Times’.  Article Continues>>
