Sally started writing, performing and producing at seven years old when she did her first play Alice in Wonderland Again and has worked in theatre for over 18 years. She founded and led the outreach department for English Touring Theatre for four years, working with 4 – 80 year olds and was Associate Producer at Manchester’s Contact Theatre for five years. More recently she was Projects Producer at THEATRE IS… Alongside producing, she’s written for theatre and TV and is now concentrating on writing and being a practitioner. She also has her own company, Ruffian Productions, with award-winning actor Michael Begley that carries out professional and participatory work. What drives her is creating work that moves or changes an audience, something that can have a profound effect. She’s fascinated by Oily Cart’s approach: the very distinctive relationship they create between the performers and the audience; the social story introduction to their work; the beautiful aural and visual images inherent in everything they do and seeing, firsthand, the long terms effects of their work.
