THEATRE IS…has been created to specifically address the challenges that face the industry with regards quality theatre with profile and sustainability for young people, children and their families.

To address this THEATRE IS...places the creative power of young people at the heart of its artistic processes. No longer does a divide exist between the work created work for and the work created with and by young people. Through Stuart’s vision as both a producer and director THEATRE IS…recognises that traditional artistic practices must be open to the evolutionary power of the next generation.

Trained at Rose Bruford in 1994 and at the National Studio in 2003, Stuart created Pursued by a Bear Productions based now at the Maltings in Farnham, he founded and chaired the Theatre503 trust and is a long standing member of the ITC Board. He has worked with a number of leading theatre practitioners including Oladipo Agboluaje, Linda Marlowe, Joseph Millson, Rosamunde Hutt and Noel Greig.
