During a week in early February there were 14 performances of the it's our theatre Roadshow. Throwing down in schools, town squares, shopping centres and youth clubs the Roadshow resulted in 450 young people applying to our workshop programme.
Barry Howes the Head of Arts and Languages at Alderman Peel School, Wells said the following about the roadshow:
"THEATRE IS… provided the students at Alderman Peel with a vibrant, exciting and original morning of thought provoking entertainment. A wide variety of art forms were effortlessly blended in a way which involved all students. Everyone who saw the show wanted more!"
We asked the applicants to the workshops to tell us why they want to take part in the project, here are just a few of their responses:
“You came to the Holt youth club and I thought you were amazing. I have always wanted to go into performing mainly acting and watching and speaking to you made me want to do it more!!!”
"Break dancing has always interested me and I'd like to inspire other people with what I can learn"
"Because it looks fun, interesting to learn new skills and try something new"
