Young Entrepreneur Bradley Cooney discusses how he started his project SLAM!: The project started around March, 2008, when I first met THEATRE IS…as they brought ‘it’s our theatre’, to Norfolk. It gave us the chance to learn new skills in hiphop, from beatboxing, rapping, breakdancing to DJing. The workshops were run by the Throwdown Crew from London. Charlie Blue, their ‘artistic director’ told us about how he got started with his own hip hop club night in Brixton. This inspired me to create SLAM!

I realised that there was in fact nothing like this for people of my generation, 16 – 19 year olds in Norfolk, there were club nights for school students, which if you are 16 you are too old to go to, and over 18s nights, for which you are then not old enough! Continues >
